I graduated summa cum laude from Clarion University in 1998 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education. A few years later, I continued my education at Duquesne University. I graduated in 2004 with a Master's degree in Instructional Technology. Currently, I’m a certified teacher in Elementary education, Special Education, and Business Computer Information Technology in the state of Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Experience
I have 10 years of experience teaching 6th – 8th grade students in a brick/mortar middle school setting. In addition, I have 10 years teaching as an adjunct professor in the master program for Instructional Technology at a local university, both in a face to face environment and online environment. Finally, I have 7 years of experience as a cyber-school teacher, working from home, managing students in grades 6-12 in an all-inclusive cyber environment. My experience in the brick/mortar environment and the online environment have developed strong communication skills both synchronously and asynchronously. I’m extremely motivated, detail-oriented, disciplined to get the job done, and follow through with a task until completion. I work hard and strive to reach my fullest potential. Flexibility, an open mind, and thinking outside of the box are all qualities needed for success. If faced with a challenging situation whether it is a last minute project, an upcoming deadline or a disgruntled parent, I go the extra mile to ensure a win-win outcome. I’m extremely organized, apply 110% effort, and strive to develop positive, professional relationships with co-workers, district personnel, students, and parents. Lastly, my experience and love of teaching have brought me to the tutoring world. Through volunteer work at my daughter's elementary school, I see the need for tutors in this highly competitive society. I'd love to work with your student to open the doors of success for them!

Hobbies
I resigned from a permanent teaching position when my daughter was born to be a stay at home mom. It was important to me to be there for my children, volunteer at their school when needed, and spend quality time with them. Seeing them grow, overcome challenges, learn new skills, acquire more knowledge and develop into young adults brings the utmost joy and happiness to my life. In my free time, when I'm not engaging with them, I enjoy sports, fitness, the beach, and walks in the sunshine.
